Escape
from the hustle and bustle of modern living to the natural surrounds
of the Southern Eyre Peninsula on the Investigator Walking
Trail. Take the time to enjoy a walk along the most beautiful,
refreshing coastline in the state. This is a long distance
coastal trail which takes its name from HMS Investigator, the
ship commanded by Matthew Flinders while surveying the rugged
coastline of Lower Eyre Peninsula in 1802. The trail is easy to walk,
well marked and accommodates people of all fitness levels. So

The Old Mill was
built as a Flour Mill in 1846 but never commenced
operation.
Now a historic lookout with views of Port Lincoln and Boston
Bay.
Within walking distance of the City Centre.
Turn off Flinders highway into Gloucester terrace then left into
Dorset Place and you will find the Old Mill.

The
Parnkalla Walking Trail has some of the most breathtaking
coastal views on the Eyre Peninsula.
Along the trail there are
many varieties of plant life, you might even catch a glimpse of
wildlife from lizards to bird life.
The length of the trails
approx.14km long and to walk the entire length should take 3-4
hours.
Parnkalla was the name of an Aboriginal group that lived
in this area at the time of settlement. There are many benches
along the trail for you to pause, rest and enjoy the
scenery. |
