Construction and opening of railway line from Port Lincoln to Cummins on November 18th 1907 also necessitated the building of a railway station and administration offices at Port Lincoln. Located south of the present site in 1926-27 the present Port Lincoln Railway Station building was constructed of local duckponds stone dressed and laid under the supervision of foremason Bert Ernest Heath.
The brick is a magnificent example of the stone mason's work of that era.
